These drawings were all made with graphite on blue and cream-colored paper measuring 25 x 19 inches. The paper is highly textured, and when viewed up close the drawings start to lose their definition, becoming fuzzy and abstracted. The effect of the paper being textured and colored adds a mysterious quality to the drawings, which fits with the subject matter. The drawings feature fog, looming mountains and rock formations, landscapes that seem to extend unending into the distance, and the mysterious gazes of various animals. My interest is in expressing a still and quiet power, and a kind of enigmatic, arcane mood or feeling.
