The drawings in this series were made with a variety of handmade inks, including onion skin ink, red wine ink, and hazelnut ink. (The black is India ink.) There is infinite satisfaction and pleasure to be gained from close looking: slowing down and noticing how the inks mingle and react with each other. There is something in these drawings about yearning, seeking, reaching, a wish to make a connection.
